Overview

Interestingly enough Upper Pigpen Falls isn't on Pigpen Branch, which pours into Lick Log Creek around 1,000+ feet upstream.

Driving Directions

From Walhalla, South Carolina. From the intersection of SC-183, head west on SC-28 for 8.1 miles and turn right onto SC-107. Drive 3.4 miles and turn left onto Village Creek Road. Drive 1.8 miles and turn right onto Nicholson Ford Road. Drive 1.53 miles and ford a stream, continue for 0.36 miles and ford the last stream. Drive 0.21 miles and turn right at the private drive, continue for 0.15 miles to where it dead ends into the parking.

From Cashiers, North Carolina. From the intersection of US-64, head south on NC-107 for 8.2 miles to the NC/SC border, where NC-107 turns into SC-107. Continue following SC-107 for 11.6 miles and turn right onto Village Creek Road. Drive 1.8 miles and turn right onto Nicholson Ford Road. Drive 1.53 miles and ford a stream, continue for 0.36 miles and ford the last stream. Drive 0.21 miles and turn right at the private drive, continue for 0.15 miles to where it dead ends into the parking.

Hiking Directions

From the parking. Follow the white blazed Foothills Trail behind the map kiosk for 0.52 miles to a bridge crossing, continue for 370+ feet to another bridge crossing. Continue following the trail 390+ feet to a split in the trail, head left and follow the green blazed Chattooga River Trail to Pigpen Falls on the left. Follow the path on the left side of the pool and head upstream to the top of Pigpen Falls. Once at the top, carefully cross the creek and head upstream to the waterfall.
